1. Theoretical Ideal Candidate (100%)The Democrat/Republican split doesn't surprise me, though I was surprised to see Bloomberg in the high 60s pretty much in the middle of the Democrat pack, and a little surprised to see all the Republicans but Ron Paul fall in the 20s and below. So much for my centrist credential....

2008 Candidate Preferences, early returns
Here's the results of this test [via]. I like the fact that it lists actual match, not relative position.

I don't think the test is accurate. For example, Obama attends a church which is avowedly socialist, and not the voluntary variety. He would use a gun to force people into his church's programs. Here is an article you might enjoy:

This test isn't right. My results look much like yours, by the way. Gravel should be up way near the top for me, but I get Obama and Biden nearer. Also, my top issue, support for a war with Iran, is not even listed. I think we all know where the "mainstream" Democrats stand with respect to that one.
Fascinating comments I'm getting: most I've gotten in ages. I know most of them are really a form of spam, but it's interesting spam!
a (who doesn't appear to be spamming): I was discussing this with some other folks, and our conclusion is that the test stinks on foreign policy issues. If you take those as seriously as social/domestic issues, then this is a poorly designed test. I expected Richardson to be much higher and Clinton to be much lower, for those reasons.
