Turns out that you can take pictures through a telescope by just putting the digital camera up against the eyepiece and letting autofocus do its thing. It's finicky, and the more magnification you're working with, the finickier it gets, but it's awfully fun to see the results.
Serious people buy actual adapters which you can use to integrate the camera and the scope. I might start off cheap with something like this, but I really should invest in the T-ring adaptors and stuff for my SLR. Someday, when I have money to burn, and time....

Wow! I love the flame shot - I'd never noticed such fine details of the wick, of which part burns, which part doesn't.
The moon is incredible, too. How did you shoot that through a telescope?

A couple more questions. Is the bud pussywillow? What is that on the flower petals? I can't decide if it looks like blood or chocolate.
I think it's a pussy willow -- I don't know if there are other fuzzy budded trees, though. Need to work on my naturalist skills!
It's soy sauce, actually. The contrast struck me as interesting.
